Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 13×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, allowing excess overhang. Spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Blend in softened butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles sandy crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15-18 minutes until lightly browned.
  3. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, and eggs until well combined. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour filling over the baked crust and return to the oven for an additional 30-35 minutes or until set.
  5. Allow bars to cool completely before lifting out of the pan using the foil overhang and slicing into squares.
