  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1.5 tsp beef bouillon
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • Butter or mayo for brushing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Toast hamburger buns on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes until crispy.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, and green pepper; cook until beef is browned.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix beef broth with cornstarch and beef bouillon; pour into the skillet while stirring.
  6. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, red pepper flakes, salt, oregano, parsley, basil, and paprika; combine well.
  7. Cook until mixture thickens; stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
  8. Assemble the sloppy joes by scooping the mixture onto toasted buns topped with provolone cheese; bake for an additional 10 minutes.
