  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix warm milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla in another bowl; combine with dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface until smooth; let rise in an oiled bowl for about 1 hour.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and roll tightly into logs. Slice into 12 pieces.
  6. Place in greased dish to rise for another 30 minutes; bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy.
