  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz wide egg noodles (cooked)
  • 2 cans (14 oz each) sauerkraut, drained
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) tomato soup
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) water
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onions, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread drained sauerkraut evenly in the baking dish and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  4. Layer cooked egg noodles over the sauerkraut followed by the beef mixture.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together tomato soup and water; pour over the casserole layers.
  6. Top generously with shredded Swiss cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-45 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
